Katy charter school announces name, program changes
The West Houston Charter School is changing its curriculum and changing its name to the Aristoi Classical Academy.
With 307 students and 42 faculty and staff members, it now is offering community service events each month as part of this transition. The following are the events and services that it will be offering in January and February.
On Saturday, Jan. 15, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., "Fractions Boot Camp for Kids" will be offered.
The “Writing Workshop for Adults” will be held on Jan. 15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. as well.
"PTO Family Movie Night" will be Friday, Jan. 21, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
"Reading the Classics," a reading group for adults, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
And the “Parenting with Love and Logic” seminars will be held on Saturday, Jan. 29, and Saturday, Feb. 5, with times to be determined.
The Aristoi Classical Academy is located at 5618 W. 11th St. in Katy.
