Former Katy, TCU standout Dalton invited to NFL Combine
Former Katy HS and TCU quarterback Andrew Dalton has been invited to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine from February 23 to March 1 in Indianapolis.
Top executives, coaching staffs, player personnel departments and medical personnel from all 32 NFL teams will be on hand to evaluate the nation’s top college football players eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft.
Over 300 of the very best college football players have been invited to this intense, four-day job interview which is a vital step in achieving their dreams of playing in the NFL.
Dalton was Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year and one of 10 finalists for the Manning Award this season, recognizing the top quarterback in the nation.
He was the Houston Chronicle Greater Houston Area Offensive Player of the
Year and the Touchdown Club Greater Houston Offensive Player of the Year his senior year at Katy HS.
The NFL Scouting Combine, began in 1982 when National Football Scouting,
Inc. first conducted a camp for its member NFL clubs in Tampa, Florida.
The key purpose then, same as it is today, was to ascertain medical
information on the top draft eligible prospects in college football. The inaugural NIC was attended by a total of 163 players and established a foundation for future expansion.
