Grace Fellowship proceeds with a possible expansion
Grace Fellowship United Methodist Church is considering a three-year capital campaign starting this year to raise more than $7 million to expand its children education building and to add a "chapel-on-the porch." On Dec. 4, church leaders plan to call the congregation together once more to allow the membership to review final plans and costs. The proposed children's education project consists of adding a 28,000-square-foot, two-story wing at the east end of the present one-story education building, bringing the total space to approximately 48,000 square feet. According to the church's website, completion of the new building would allow church leaders to double the number of children they minister to on Sundays. "First through fifth grade will be in the new wing of the children's building, probably first and second grades on the ground floor," he said.
