Four McMeans students achieve the Silver Service Leadership Award
Four students from McMeans Junior High School recently received the Silver Service Leadership Award, the highest award given by the Girl Scout Cadettes.
Keely Keeney, Harley Maldonado, Emily Ridgeway and Insiyah Sulemanji received the award for the community service they accomplished this year.
The four students made fleece blankets for seniors at Christmas, and held a pet collection drive to assist Meals on Wheels for seniors. The girls each volunteered for 70 hours or more. Additionally, the girls’ troop earned the Girl Scout Community Service Award for volunteer work done with other organizations.
