Katy High Choir presents 'Requiem' with its composer
The Katy High School Choir presented Bradley Ellingboe's "Requiem" on Saturday, May 5, as part of its biennial Masterworks Concerts series.
The production provided a unique chance for the choir to rehearse and perform under the direction of the work's composer. A professor of music at the University of New Mexico, Ellingboe has produced more than 110 pieces of music. "Requiem," his longest work to date, debuted at Carnegie Hall in 2010, followed by a European tour in 2011.
The May 5 performance by the Katy High School Choir featured a full orchestra and a solo by senior Alex Thurman.
Katy High School is located at 6331 Highway Blvd. in Katy. For more information, visit the Katy High School Association's website at khsca.blogspot.com.
