Two runners from Katy complete Funfest Run by the Bay 5K
Two runners from Katy completed the Funfest Run by the Bay 5K on Saturday, June 9 in Texas City.
Victor Aguirre, 60, completed the race in 21:18, and Joe Grundmeyer, 54, crossed the finish line in 1:01:53.
A total of 235 runners finished the 5K race, which was held at Bay Street Park near the Texas City Dike.
Mahta Mesfun of Houston was the men's overall winner with a time of 15:35, while Astrid Horstman, 32, was the women's winner in 21:05.
