Bass Pro Shops to host duck-calling contest

The Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Katy will host the Texas State Championship Duck Calling Contest on Saturday, Aug. 11.

Check-in begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 25 at Bass Pro Shops, 5000 Katy Mills Circle, Suite 415. The contest is for those age 17 and older, with participants coming from all over the state.

The winner represents the state of Texas in the World Championship Duck Calling Contest in Stuttgart, Ark., this November. The event is free and open to the public.

Prizes are given to first-, second- and third-place finishers.
