TRI Heart of Katy family and kids triathlon set for Sept. 8

The TRI Heart of Katy Family Triathlon benefiting Christus St. Catherine Sports Medicine will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 in Katy.

Families and individuals are welcome to bring bicycles, running shoes and swimsuits to participate. Register online at kidstri.com/re_80159/TRITheHeartofKatyFamilyTriathlon.html.

Children ages 5 and 6 will swim 25 meters followed by a .5-mile bike and .25-mile run. Children ages 7 to 10 will swim 100 meters followed by a 3.1-mile bike and .6-mile run. Children ages 11 to 15 and parents will swim 200 meters followed by a 6.2-mile bike and 1.2-mile run.

The triathlon will start at Gerri Ayers Pool at Green Trails, which is located near Kingsland Boulevard at Crescent Green, east of Fry Road and across from Christus St. Catherine Hospital.
